SWEET AND SMOKY CRANBERRY BBQ GLAZE

Elevate your holiday turkey with this easy homemade smoked cranberry sauce.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup Ocean Spray® Wholeberry Cranberry Sauce

    2 cups ketchup

    1/4 cup vegetable oil

    1 cup minced onion (charred)

    2 Tbsp garlic minced

    1 jalapeno pepper, ribs and seeds removed, finely mince

    Pinch each of kosher salt and black pepper

    1/2 Tsp cinnamon

    28-oz canned crushed tomatoes

    1/2 cup water

    3/4 cup Worcestershire sauce

    1/2 cup cider vinegar

    1/4 cup molasses

    2 Tbsp Dijon mustard

    1 cup dark brown sugar, packed

    1 Tbsp chilli powder

    2 tsp coarsely ground black pepper

    1/2 tsp ground allspice

Directions:

  1. Cut onions into rings ½ inch thick
  2. Roast on high heat until blackened. Cool and dice.
  3. Pour oil into a large saucepan and set over medium-high heat
  4. Add onions and jalapenos and season with a pinch of salt and pepper and cook until soft and starting to brown
  5. Add the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds
  6. Add all remaining ingredients
  7. Bring to a boil, then lower heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes (or until desired consistency is reached)
  8. Puree in blender when cool

Keeps for one month in a tightly sealed container in the refrigerator
